How Long Do Flower Essence Infusions Last on our Crochet Flowers?

One of the questions I am often asked is how long the energy of a flower essence will stay active once it has been infused into a handmade crochet flower. It’s a beautiful question and one that brings together two things I love deeply: the art of creating with intention, and the subtle vibrational qualities of plants.
The Infusion Process
Each crochet flower I make is infused with a blend of seven carefully chosen flower essences. These essences are added in their stock strength form — that is, the same concentration used when preparing remedies — with around seven drops placed directly onto the finished flower.
The yarn I use varies between cotton and acrylic, both of which hold the essence differently. Cotton fibres are natural and slightly more absorbent, allowing the essence to soak in gently. Acrylic, being synthetic, doesn’t absorb quite as much, but it still carries the vibrational imprint beautifully and tends to dry faster, which helps prevent any mould or moisture-related issues.

How Long the Infusion Lasts
Because the essences are made with a small amount of brandy (which acts as a preservative), there is no concern about mould or spoilage from this amount of liquid. The alcohol evaporates quickly, but what remains is the energetic signature of the flowers, the subtle vibration that supports emotional and energetic wellbeing.
In most cases, the energetic infusion will stay active for around four to six weeks, sometimes longer if the flowers are stored thoughtfully. Environmental factors can influence how long the essence remains vibrant, for example:
Sunlight: prolonged exposure can disperse the energetic imprint more quickly.
Air and movement: the more the flower is handled or exposed, the faster it may lose its charge.
Environment: calm, still spaces tend to preserve subtle energy longer than high-traffic or electronically busy areas.

Caring for Your Essence-Infused Flower
You can think of your infused flower a little like a crystal or a smudge bundle — it holds and radiates gentle energy, and it can be refreshed when it starts to feel a little “quiet.”
To care for your flower:
Keep it out of direct sunlight to maintain colour and energetic longevity.
Avoid damp areas or high humidity, especially for the cotton yarn.
When you feel its energy softening, simply refresh it with a few new drops of your chosen flower essence or lightly mist it with a diluted essence blend.
This process can be a lovely ritual — a way to reconnect with your intention and realign with the energy the flower was originally imbued with.
Extending the Experience
Some people like to keep a small flower essence mist bottle nearby so they can refresh their crochet flower whenever they feel called to. You can even change the essence to reflect a new emotional focus — perhaps something calming for the bedroom, uplifting for your workspace, or heart-opening for a personal altar.
In this way, the infused crochet flowers become living pieces of art — soft, tactile, and energetically resonant. They not only carry the vibration of the flowers themselves but also your own connection to the moment you bring them into your space.
If you need a bottle to top up your flowers, you are always more than welcome to purchase a bottle at dose strength from us or purchase the stock bottles and spray mists directly from:
Until next time, keep nurturing your inner sprout.
